UT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1616 Guadalupe Street Public Intoxication: A UTPD guard reported that there was a person lying in the middle of the sidewalk in front of this building. Our officers responded and located the non-UT subject. After they determined that he did not need medical attention, they discovered that the man was extremely intoxicated. He was very confused about the number of drinks that he had consumed and was unable to stand unassisted. Since our officers could not find a person to assume care, custody, and control over him they took him to the county jail. Occurred at 3:00 p.m. on 08/03/16. CLAUDIA TAYLOR JOHNSON HALL, 201 W 6th Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A UTPD guard at this location reported that there was a non-UT subject skateboarding at that location who refused to leave. While skateboarding is normally allowed on UT property, this subject was performing tricks on nearby fixtures and the fountain equipment which has proven to be harmful to that equipment. Our officers responded and located the subject. When they made contact with him, he expressed his unsympathetic view of security guards and threw his skateboard onto 6th Street. Our officers made sure that his property was not damaged and returned it to him after issuing him a written Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred at 6:55 p.m. pm 08/03/16. INTERSECTION OF 24TH ST AND SAN JACINTO BLVD Driving While Intoxicated: A UTPD officer patrolling near this location found a vehicle stopped in the lane for opposing traffic. When the vehicle did not move for approximately one minute, the officer drove up closer to the driver to check on them. The non-UT driver appeared to wake up, put on her right turn signal, and turned left. The officer stopped the driver and she told officers that she had only had a single drink, but was also taking prescription medication. After conducting standardized field sobriety tests, our officers found probable cause to place her under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.
