Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Monday, 08/15/16 and Tuesday, 08/16/16. ****Administrative Message**** The University of Texas at Austin Police Department and the University Police Officers Association will be hosting a “Coffee with a Cop” event at the North End Zone from 9 a.m. to 12-noon on August 19, 2016. Come join us for an opportunity to speak with officers in a relaxed environment. The event is open to everyone; students, staff, faculty, parents, and concerned citizens. We want to hear from our community about your concerns and provide you the opportunity to ask questions to the people that actually patrol where you live and work. BURDINE HALL, 2505 University Graffiti: A black marker was used to write words on a wall inside a 1st floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $30.00. Reported on 08/12/16 at 2:51 p.m. DEVELOPMENT OFFICE BUILDING, 2901 North IH 35 Theft: Two laptop computer charging cables, a Minolta digital camera and a black Samsonite laptop bag was stolen from a 2nd floor office. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred between 08/10/16 at 2:10 a.m. and 08/11/16 at 2:30 p.m. 1900 San Jacinto Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped for speeding and swerving out of the lane of traffic to the point the subject nearly collided with a parked vehicle. The subject was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was deemed to have been driving while intoxicated. Occurred on 08/15/16 at 11:57 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 18 Alarm Reports, 1 “Police Help” Callbox Activation, 14 Traffic Violations, 1 Motor Vehicle Collision, 6 Suspicious Activity Reports, 8 Foot Patrols, 2 Medical Emergency Assist Requests, 2 Unsecured Door Reports, and 3 Public Assists between 08/15/16 and 08/16/16.
