JESTER EAST, 201 East 21st Street Criminal Mischief: Five “Exit” signs were knocked from their mounting brackets along a 1st floor hallway. Repair cost: $250.00. Reported on 08/23/16 at 10:03 p.m. SAN JACINTO RESIDENCE HALL, 309 East 21st Street Theft: A black Specialized mountain bike was stolen after it was left unsecured at the bicycle racks located on the northeast side of the residence hall. The owner left the bicycle unsecured as her u-lock was not working properly. Loss value: $400.00. Occurred on 08/21/16 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 20 Alarm Reports, 1 Fire Alarm Activation, 8 Traffic Violations, 1 Motor Vehicle Collision, 4 Suspicious Activity Reports, 6 Foot Patrols, 1 Medical Emergency Assist, 1 Welfare Concern Report, 1 Stuck Elevator Report, 2 Courtesy Escorts, and 3 Public Assist between 08/23/16 and 08/24/16. UTPD handles over 5000 lost and found items each year from campus departments, although we cannot accept clothing, food or drink containers, toiletries, broken or soiled property. Campus departments are encouraged to call 471-4441 to have UTPD pick up lost and found items that are unclaimed after one week.
