Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Friday, 08/26/16 and Monday 08/29/16. LOT 39, 2300 Red River Street Burglary of a Motor Vehicle: A UT staff member reported that someone had entered their vehicle and taken an item from the trunk. Estimated loss value: $40 Occurred on 08/25/16 between 10:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. LOT 37, 2200 Red River Street Criminal Trespass Warning: UTPD Dispatch received a call about a non-UT subject attempting to board a bus while naked. Officers responded and located a subject whose clothing was so ill-fitting that it was possible they were exposed while attempting to board a bus. Officers issued him a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 08/26/16 at 7:31 p.m. 1300 BLOCK OF MANOR RD Criminal Trespass: UTPD Dispatch was notified of a subject possibly passed out near the gas pumps at this location. Officers responded and located the same subject from the previous entry. Our officers explained the written criminal trespass warning again after placing the non-UT subject under arrest. Occurred on 08/26/16 at 10:40 p.m. SAN ANTONIO GARAGE, 2420 San Antonio Street Graffiti: A UTPD officer patrolling this location found several illegible markings made with an indelible black marker at this location. Estimated cost of removal: $100. Discovered on 08/27/16 at 2:11 a.m. LITTLEFIELD HOUSE, 302 West 24th Street Graffiti: A UTPD officer discovered that someone left illegible letters on a post at this location in white paint. Estimated cost of removal: $20. Discovered on 08/27/16 at 4:36 a.m. 2300 BLOCK OF GUADALUPE ST Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UTPD officer noticed a non-UT subject at this location using an aluminum can in a way that it did not appear to be designed for. As the officer approached, he recognized that the can had been converted into makeshift pipe. When asked what he was doing, the surprisingly honest citizen responded that he was using the can to smoke marijuana. The subject was issued a citation for the offense. Occurred on 08/27/16 at 7:51 a.m. FRANK DOBIE HOUSE, 702 East Dean Keeton Street Outside Agency Warrant: While patrolling the area, a UTPD officer observed a non-UT subject that he knew had a recent arrest warrant issued. After confirming the warrant, the officer placed the subject under arrest and issued him a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 08/27/16 at 4:38 p.m. 2200 BLOCK OF GUADALUPE ST Public Intoxication/Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UTPD officer noticed a UT student stumbling and losing his balance on the level concrete at this location. When the officer checked on the student, he found that the student was under the age of 21 and intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself. Unable to find a ride for the intoxicated person, the officer was forced to place him in the custody of the county jail until he sobered up. Occurred on 08/27/16 at 11:50 p.m. 2400 BLOCK OF GUADALUPE ST Possession of Marijuana 2oz or Less: While observing traffic at this location, a UTPD officer found a vehicle traveling with no headlights on. After approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed a distinct odor wafting out of the car. When the officer informed the non-UT driver that he intended to search the car, the driver handed him a cup with a useable amount of marijuana inside. Occurred on 08/28/16 at 4:03 a.m. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Street Theft: A Vendor at a local event taking place at the Erwin Center reported that some merchandise along with the mannequins that displayed it had been stolen. Estimated loss: $265. Occurred between 08/27/16 at 11:30 p.m. and 08/28/16 at 9:00 a.m. 800 BLOCK OF E CLYDE LITTLEFIELD DR Outside Agency Warrant: A UTPD officer noticed a non-UT subject sleeping at the bus stop near this location. When the officer checked to make sure the subject did not need medical assistance, he discovered that the man had an outstanding warrant from another law enforcement agency. Occurred on 08/28/16 at 11:07 a.m. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Avenue Theft: A UT student reported that she left a pair of shoes on top of a trashcan and did not remember until the following day. When she returned, the shoes were not there and had not been turned into the building's lost and found. Estimated loss value: $80. Occurred between 08/26/16 at 3:00 p.m. and 08/27/16 at 3:00 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 74 Alarm Reports, 35 Traffic Violations, 4 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 14 Suspicious Activity Reports, 21 Foot Patrols, 5 Medical Emergency Assists, 7 Welfare Concern Reports, 2 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Requests, 4 Found Property Reports, and 12 Public Assists between 08/26/16 and 08/29/16.
