Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Monday, 08/29/16 and Tuesday, 08/30/16 SAN JACINTO GARAGE, 2401 San Jacinto Boulevard Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle: A UT student reported that he witnessed a driver strike a parked vehicle while attempting to pull into a parking space. The student requested that the driver leave his contact information on the vehicle that he damaged, but the driver refused and left the garage. Thanks for the information provided by the responsible student, UTPD has good information on the suspect that caused the damage. Occurred on 08/29/16 between 1:40 p.m. SAN ANTONIO GARAGE, 2420 San Antonio Street Graffiti: A patrolling UTPD officer noticed markings on the garage made with an indelible black marker. Estimated cost of removal: $50. Occurred on 08/29/16 at 9:15 p.m. 2800 BLOCK OF NUECES ST Driving While Intoxicated/Possession of Marijuana: A UTPD officer observed a vehicle traveling near this location with an extremely expired registration. Once the officer stopped the vehicle, he immediately noticed that the driver gave off the distinctive odor of marijuana. A search of the car revealed a usable amount of marijuana, and when the officers conducted standardized field sobriety tests they discovered that the driver had consumed enough of it to be unable to operate his vehicle safely. Occurred on 08/29/16 at 10:21 p.m. LITTLEFIELD FOUNTAIN, 200 West 21st Street Criminal Trespass: UTPD Dispatch received a call about a shirtless man swimming in the fountain at this location. When officers arrived, they located a shirtless non-UT subject who had evidently been submerged in water. Officers also discovered that this particular subject had previously received written notice that the fountain was not available for use as a public bath. Our officers placed him under arrest for criminal trespass. Occurred on 08/30/126 at 3:16 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 19 Alarm Reports, 5 Traffic Violations, 2 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 3 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Foot Patrol, 3 Medical Emergency Assists, 4 Found Property Reports, 1 Police “Emergency Help” Callbox Activation, and 1 Public Assist between 08/29/16 and 08/30/16.
