Report for 09/09/2016

Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Thursday, 09/08/16 and Friday, 09/09/16. MAIN BUILDING, 110 Inner Campus Drive Theft: A UT staff member reported that during a scheduled move, several office items were stolen. Estimated loss value: $480. Discovered on 09/08/16 at 1:00 p.m. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (x2)/Failure to Identify: A UT staff member contacted UTPD for a suspicious persons call. The staff member stated that there were two intoxicated males in the lobby that were attempting to leave. Our officers responded and located those people who were both UT students. After determining that they did not need medical attention, officers discovered they were under the legal age to consume alcohol. While attempting to issue citations to the men, one of them continuously told officers that he was born in the year 2015. Our officers did not believe that a toddler was capable of being admitted to the University of Texas as a student. When officers obtained a copy of the man's driver's license photo and showed it to him, he claimed that it was not him and gave a false name, date of birth, and a California address. Officers placed the non-Californian, non-toddler under arrest for Failure to Identify. Occurred on 09/09/16 at 2:31 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 33 Alarm Reports, 13 Traffic Violations, 15 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Medical Emergency, 6 Foot Patrols, 3 Welfare Concerns, 1 Found Property Report, and 4 Public Assists between 09/08/16 and 09/09/16.
