Report for 10/06/2016

Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Wednesday, 10/05/16 and Thursday, 10/06/16. ALMETRIUS DUREN HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave Theft: A UT student reported that as admission wristband to a local music festival was stolen from his mailbox. Estimated loss value: $255. Occurred between 09/28/16 at 8 a.m. and 10/04/16 at 5 p.m. INTERSECTION OF CLYDE LITTLEFIELD DR AND RED RIVER ST Driving While Intoxicated: UTPD Dispatch received a call from Travis County EMS about a driver asleep in a vehicle that was in the roadway. Paramedics checked on the driver and shut off the vehicle before officers arrived. Once they verified the UT student driver did not need medical attention our officers spoke with him. Based on the fact that the man was asleep and then fell out of the car when he attempted to exit (don't worry, our officers caught him), they began to suspect that his nap was related to the prodigious consumption of ethanol. The driver then made several statements that reinforced this theory. Our officers determined that the man was too intoxicated to operate the vehicle safely and placed him under arrest. Occurred on 10/06/16 at 3:19 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 22 Alarm Reports, 13 Traffic Violations, 7 Suspicious Activity Reports, 4 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 3 Police “Emergency Help” Callbox Activations, 2 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agencies, 4 Medical Emergencies, 6 Foot Patrol, and 2 Public Assists between 10/05/16 and 10/06/16.
