Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Thursday, 10/20/16 and Monday, 10/24/16. WALTER WEBB HALL, 405 West 25th Street Graffiti: A patrolling UTPD officer noticed words written in black and white spray paint at this location. Estimated cost of removal: $500. Discovered on 10/20/16 at 7:28 a.m. STUDENT SERVICES BUILDING, 100 West Dean Keeton Street Theft: A UT staff member reported the theft of a white board from this location. Estimated loss value: $200. Reported on 10/20/16 at 10:28 a.m. IC2 INSTITUTE, 2815 San Gabriel Street Graffiti: Several unintelligible words were written on the mailbox at this location with a white paint marker. Estimated cost of removal: $50. Reported on 10/20/16 at 10:13 a.m. LOT 119, 1600 East Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard Burglary of a Motor Vehicle (x5): A UT staff member reported that they found several vehicles with broken windows. UTPD officers determined that the vehicles had valuables removed and contacted the vehicles' owners. Estimated loss value: Unknown. Discovered on 10/20/16 at 1:16 p.m. BRAZOS GARAGE, 210 East Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard Criminal Mischief: A UT staff member discovered that an unknown person used a drill to place 16 screws into the tires of his truck. Estimated loss value: $1,030. Reported on 10/20/16 at 11:25 a.m. JOHNSON WILDFLOWER CENTER, 4801 La Crosse Avenue Theft: An authorized visitor to the property reported the theft of an unattended wallet. Estimated loss value: $120. Reported on 10/22/16 at 2:38 a.m. 1500 BLOCK OF RED RIVER ST Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer located a non-UT subject who was stumbling in the middle of the roadway at this location. The officer commanded the man to stop and he promptly fell over. Our officer was able to get the man safely out of the roadway, where he determined that the man was a danger to himself based on his level of intoxication. Occurred on 10/23/16 at 12:42 a.m. AT&T CONFERENCE CENTER, 1900 University Avenue Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer noticed a non-UT subject who was apparently asleep on a utility grate outside this location. Closer examination revealed that the man's pants were unzipped in a failed attempt to urinate somewhere other than in his pants. Our officer woke the man up and found that he was also very confused as to his location and had no way to get back to his home in Houston, TX. Occurred on 10/24/16 at 4:00 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 68 Alarm Reports, 20 Traffic Violation, 20 Suspicious Activity Reports, 5 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Request, 3 Welfare Concerns, 16 Foot Patrols, 3 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 12 Public Assists, 4 Medical Emergencies, and 1 Police “Emergency Help” Callbox Activation between 10/20/16 and 10/24/16.
