Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Monday, 10/24/16 and Tuesday, 10/25/16. NORTH END ZONE, 405 East 23rd Street Theft: A UT student reported the theft of a bicycle from this location. The bicycle was left secured with a cable lock. Estimated loss value: $151. Reported on 10/24/16 at 3:06 p.m. 1600 BLOCK OF NUECES ST Possession of Substance in Penalty Group 2A < 2oz: A patrolling UTPD officer noticed a distinctive odor while patrolling in this area. Following Toucan Sam's advice, our officer was able to locate several non-UT subjects with hand-rolled cigarettes. When the officer came into view, several of the people quickly attempted to hide the objects that they were holding. Our officer quickly deduced that they were in possession of an illegal substance and detained the group. Field testing proved that the group was in possession of synthetic cannabinoids. On an unrelated note, a famous breakfast cereal spokesperson has been invited to speak at the UT System Police Academy. Occurred on 10/25/16 at10:10 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 15 Alarm Reports, 5 Traffic Violation, 4 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Request, 1 Welfare Concern, 6 Foot Patrols, 2 Public Assists, 1 Medical Emergency, and 1 Police “Emergency Help” Callbox Activation between 10/24/16 and 10/25/16.
