Estimated removal cost: $200. Reported on 11/09/16 at 9:01 a.m. 2000 BLOCK OF SPEEDWAY AVE Theft: A UT staff member reported that his bicycle was stolen. Only the front tire of the bicycle was secured with a U-lock. The front tire and U-lock were recovered. Estimated loss value: $150. Reported on 11/09/16 at 3:27 p.m. *** CRIME PREVENTION TIP: UTPD recommends, at the minimum, a good quality U-lock that uses a flat key. However those locks are only work if you use them effectively. You can click here for a video on how to best use your bicycle locks. *** JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Public Intoxication: A UT staff member contacted police about an intoxicated student in the lobby of this location. Being highly trained investigators, our officers quickly reached the conclusion that the woman was intoxicated, based on the fact that she had decorated her shirt with the recent contents of her stomach and had trouble forming complete sentences. Officers immediately contacted EMS and the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of alcohol poisoning. No charges were filed.
