Report for 11/11/2016

Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Thursday, 11/10/16 and Friday, 11/11/16. *** ADMIN MESSAGE: UTPD would like to thank everyone who showed up to our latest Coffee with a Cop event. We appreciate the opportunity you gave us to get to know our community better. We are organizing our next event for the upcoming semester. If you would like to request a similar event in a particular area of campus, or during a particular time, please do so by responding to the Campus Watch. *** BIOLOGICAL LABORATORIES, 205 West 24th Street Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer noticed a woman slumped over the concrete retaining wall outside this location. When the officer checked on her, the UT student told the officer that she had been studying at the library. Based on the odor of alcohol coming from her breath and the fact that the woman was sleeping on top of a concrete wall, our officer began to doubt the woman's veracity. When the woman was unable to stand unassisted, the officer summoned medical help. EMS transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment. Occurred on 11/10/16 at 8:36 p.m. 300 BLOCK OF E MLK BLVD Public Intoxication: A patrolling UTPD officer noticed a vehicle stop suddenly at a green light. Immediately afterward, the officer observed frenzied activity inside the stopped vehicle as several people all seemed to be moving at once. Our officer was intrigued by such odd behavior and approached the vehicle to check on the occupants. A rear door opened and a woman ran out of the car while vomiting. From the smell inside the vehicle, it became apparent that the woman had gotten ill while inside and had vomited on several other passengers. Once the officer determined that someone inside the vehicle was sober enough to care for the ill woman, he let the Vomit-mobile continue on its way. Occurred on 11/11/16 at 2:56 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 24 Alarm Reports, 6 Traffic Violations, 5 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Requests, 1 Welfare Concern, 3 Foot Patrols, 6 Motor Vehicle Collisions, and 4 Public Assists between 11/10/16 and 11/11/16.
