Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Friday, 12/09/16 and Monday, 12/12/16. Walter Webb Hall, 405 W. 25th Street Graffiti: An alert UTPD officer observed fresh graffiti on the north exterior wall of Walter Webb Hall. The cost to remove the graffiti is estimated to be $50.00. Occurred between 10:12 am on 11/28/16 and 9:12 am on 12/09/2016. Blanton Dormitory, 2500 University Avenue Criminal Trespass/Theft: A UT student observed an individual ride a bicycle into the quad near Blanton Dormitory. The individual then abandoned his bicycle and took another from a nearby bike rack. To add insult to injury, he then took a wheel from a third bicycle and attached it to the second before attempting to leave the area. Thanks to the observant UT student, UTPD officers were able to locate the would-be bike thief. Unsurprisingly, the individual was well known to UTPD and has received several criminal trespass warnings. The gentleman was provided an escort to Travis County Central Booking complete with a pair of shiny bracelets. Occurred on 12/09/2016 at 12:56 pm. San Antonio Garage, 2420 San Antonio Street Graffiti: An alert UTPD officer observed fresh graffiti on the exterior southeast staircase of San Antonio Garage. The cost to remove the graffiti is estimated to be $50.00. The graffiti was discovered on 12/09/2016 at 5:10 pm. Ken's Donuts, 2820 Guadalupe Street (Non-UT property) Graffiti: A business owner flagged down patrolling UTPD officers and stated that he observed two males using spray paint on the wall behind his business. By the time officers were notified, the offenders had already left the area. Occurred on 12/10/2016 at 03:48 am. Blanton Museum of Art, 200 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Theft: A UT staff member discovered that several personal items were missing from a handbag that she left inside an unlocked locker. More of her property was discovered by a patrolling UT Guard in the bushes near the PCL. Estimated loss: $10.00. Occurred on 12/09/16 at 4:00pm. Kinsolving Dormitory: 2605 Whitis Avenue Theft: A bicycle belonging to a UT student was stolen from a bike rack near Kinsolving Dormitory. Estimated loss: $250.00. Reported on 12/10/2016 at 02:18pm. 2600 Speedway Criminal Trespass Warning: UTPD officers responded to a disturbance wherein a UT student reported that they were being followed by a former dating partner. UTPD officers quickly located the unwanted paramour (who was not affiliated with UT). The responding officers delivered the hard news: he's just not into you. The individual was issued a criminal trespass warning and ejected from University property. Occurred on 12/10/2016 at 5:17 pm. 300 E. 21st Street (UT Property) Graffiti: A UTPD officer discovered graffiti on post on the bridge near 21st Street and San Jacinto. The estimated cost of removal is $150.00 Reported on 12/11/2016 at 02:08 am. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 90 Alarm Reports, 16 Suspicious Activity Reports, 7 Traffic Violations, 3 Welfare Concerns, 13 Foot Patrol, 3 Medical Emergencies, and 2 Public Assists between 12/09/16 and 12/12/16.
