Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Monday, 01/30/17 and Tuesday, 01/31/17. Administrative Note: You may have noticed an interruption to the Campus Watch. Worry not! The Community Outreach Unit at UTPD is in a state of transition and you may see additional interruptions to the Campus Watch. We expect to be back to normal by 02/13/2017. Thank you! Burdine Hall 2505 University Avenue Graffiti: A UT staff member discovered graffiti in a restroom inside the building. The estimated cost to remove the graffiti is $100.00. Reported on 01/30/2017 at 08:27 am. Welch Hall 105 E. 24th Street Criminal Trespass: UTPD officers were dispatched to Welch Hall in regard to a report of a suspicious person. Responding officers quickly located the individual and instantly recognized him. The person had been issued not one, not two, not even three but ten prior criminal trespass warnings from The University of Texas. Officers took the trespasser into custody and transported him to Travis County Central Booking. Occurred on 01/30/2017 at 10:32 am. 2500 University Criminal Trespass Warning: A UTPD detective observed an individual laying on the sidewalk next to a can of beer. The detective woke the man and checked his well-being. After determining that he was not in distress, the detective ordered the man to leave the campus. The man initially complied but quickly returned to campus property. The detective detained the man and issued him a criminal trespass warning. The man got the hint and left the area. Occurred on 01/30/2017 at 11:15 am. Student Services Building 100 W. Dean Keeton Disturbance: UTPD Emergency Communications Operators received multiple panic alarm activations and a 911 call from inside the Student Services Building. The caller advised that a male was screaming at employees and flipped over several tables in the waiting area. UTPD officers quickly responded and located the male. The gentleman explained to officers that he had not received the level of service from the office that he had expected. The responding officers educated him on how to act like an adult and not throw tantrums when you don't get your way. The UT staff members in the area were gracious enough to address his concerns before UTPD officers escorted the gentleman out of the building. The case was administratively cleared. Occurred on 01/30/2017 at 01:15 pm. Art Building 2301 San Jacinto Theft: A UT student reported that his bicycle was stolen. The estimated value of the stolen bicycle is $450.00. Reported on 01/30/2017 at 06:15 pm. The University of Texas at Austin Police Department responded to 19 Alarm Reports, 7 Traffic Violations, 3 Foot Patrols, 1 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Call, 7 Suspicious Activity Reports, 4 Medical Emergency and 16 Public Assists between Monday, 01/30/17 and Tuesday, 01/31/17.
