To make matters worse, the other driver didn't bother to leave a note. Reported on 02/07/17 at 04:44 pm. Officer Murphy's Pro-Tip: Accidents happen. If you strike an unattended vehicle, the law requires that you leave a note on the other car. That note must, at a minimum, contain the names and addresses of the operator and owner of the striking vehicle. Don't believe me? Check Texas Transportation Code 550.024. It's a class B misdemeanor if you strike an unattended vehicle and fail to leave a note. Speedway Garage 105 E. 27th Street Possession of Marijuana (less than two ounces)/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UTPD officer observed a suspicious vehicle inside the parking garage. You may ask yourself: what made the car suspicious, Officer Murphy? Well, as officers approached the vehicle they observed that it was completely full of smoke. The officers must have been concerned about life safety inside the vehicle given the volume of smoke. However, once the driver of the vehicle rolled down his windows the officers were able to detect the (extremely) strong scent of marijuana emanating from the car. Officers asked both occupants to exit the vehicle. The officers then searched the vehicle and recovered a small amount of marijuana and myriad items used for its ingestion. The driver admitted that all of the marijuana was his. He received a citation for possession of marijuana. Officers seized all of the marijuana and the paraphernalia. Occurred on 02/08/2017 at 12:39 am.
