Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Wednesday 02/08/17 and Thursday 02/09/17. Note: Did you recently misplace your illegal drugs on campus? If so, I have great news: UTPD Officers have recently recovered illegal drugs that were found unattended. Be sure to provide your name, phone number and birthday as well as the name and location of the dealer who sold it to you. 800 E. Dean Keaton Graffiti: A UT Student reported that she witnessed someone use spray paint to deface a UT owned street sign. The cost of repairing the sign is estimated to be $100.00. Reported on 02/08/2017 at 10:34 am. Parking Lot 38 2300 Red River Theft: A UT student report that her rear license plate was missing. Reported on 02/08/17 at 11:34 am. Woolrich Laboratories 210 E. 24th Street Criminal Mischief: A UT student reported that someone had run over his rear bicycle tire while it was secured to a bike rack. He surmised that the culprit was probably driving a golf cart on the sidewalk despite the nearby sign forbidding it. The estimated cost of replacing the tire is $50.00 Parking Lot 39 2400 Red River Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer observed a pedal cyclist fall off his bicycle near Parking Lot 39. The officer approached the gentleman in order to render assistance. The cyclist told officers that he was “very drunk” and when officers asked the man how much he had to drink, he simply replied “enough.” The intoxicated man was able to call a family member for a ride home. Occurred on 02/08/17 at 10:53 pm. 2500 Rio Grande Street Possession of Marijuana: A UTPD Officer observed a vehicle driving without headlights when required. By required we mean at two in the morning. The officer initiated a traffic stop and was able to (you guessed it) smell a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The officer recovered several forms of cannabinoids and related paraphernalia from the vehicle. The offender was issued a citation and released. Occurred on 02/09/17 at 02:34 am. The University of Texas at Austin Police Department responded to 13 Alarm Reports, 8 Traffic Violations, 4 Foot Patrols, 4 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Assist Outside Agency Call, 1 Medical Emergency and 16 Public Assists between Wednesday 02/08/17 and Thursday 02/09/17.
