Report for 02/15/2017

Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Tuesday 02/14/17 and Wednesday 02/15/17. 2100 Block of Robert Dedman Drive Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer observed a man stumbling in and out of the roadway. The man also appeared to be peering into the windows of parked vehicles. The officer approached the man to interview him. The officers observed that the man was exhibiting signs of intoxication. Not the least of those clues was the fact that the gentleman urinated on himself while speaking with officers. Officers then took Mr. Potty-Pants into custody. After being fitted with a set of steel bracelets, the tinkler thanked the officers for their service and described one of them as a “good boy”. While UTPD does have a K-9 unit, we recommend that you describe the dogs as good boys instead of our human officers. Occurred on 02/14/17 at 04:00 pm. Frank Erwin Center 1701 Red River Street Theft: A UT Staff member contacted UTPD to report that her property had been stolen. The staff member told officers that she left her cell phone unattended for approximately five minutes and in that time it was stolen. The cost to replace the phone and its case is estimated to be $280.00. Reported on 02/14/17 at 05:50 pm. Crime Prevention Tip: Criminals strike wherever they are given the opportunity. Never leave your things unattended – not even for a second! The University of Texas at Austin Police Department responded to 19 Alarm Reports, 4 Traffic Violations, 3 Foot Patrols, 9 Suspicious Activity Reports, 3 Medical Emergencies and 23 Public Assists between Tuesday 02/14/17 and Wednesday 02/15/17.
