Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Wednesday 03/01/17 and Thursday 03/02/17. ****Bicyclist Alert**** Much of Speedway between 21st Street and 24th Street is a dismount zone. This means that all bicyclists must dismount their bicycles and walk while in the marked zone. The areas are all marked with signage. UTPD officers will be in the area conducting enforcement activities. Manor Garage 2017 Robert Dedman Criminal Mischief: A citizen reported that his car had been vandalized in the early morning hours. He found a large dent on his vehicle and someone had written a swear word in the dust of his vehicle. Reported on 03/01/17 at 09:00 am 2700 Block of Guadalupe Unlawful Manufacture or Delivery of a Substance in Penalty Group 3: A UTPD Lieutenant observed a vehicle execute an unlawful turn. The lieutenant initiated a traffic stop and upon approaching it observed drug paraphernalia. The lieutant ordered the vehicles occupants out of the car. A search of the vehicle yielded 71 pills commonly known as Xanax. The suspect did not have a prescription for those pills. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Travis County Central Booking. Occurred on 03/01/17 at 1:13 pm. Brazos Garage 201 E. Martin Luther King Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UTPD officer observed someone smoking marijuana on the top level of the garage. The suspect instantly admitted guilt to the officer. He was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. Occurred on 03/01/17 at 11:20 pm. Etter-Harbin Alumni Center 2110 San Jacinto Criminal Trespass Warning: A UTPD Security Guard observed a man who appeared to be looking for a place to camp near the alumni center. UTPD officers responded to the area and located the man. Officers explained that the forty acres are not a campground. Officers issued the man a criminal trespass warning and ejected him from the campus. Occurred on 03/01/17 at 11:54 pm The University of Texas Police Department responded to 34 Alarm Reports, 18 Traffic Violations, 7 Foot Patrols, 5 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Medical Emergency, 2 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Calls, and 16 Public Assists between Wednesday 03/01/17 and Thursday 03/02/17.
