The man did not know where he was and proved unable to operate a cellular telephone. Officers took the man into custody and transported him to Travis County Central Booking. Occurred on 03/17/17 at 02:28 am. Jester Residence Hall 201 E. 21st Street Criminal Trespass Warning: UTPD officers were dispatched to a common area in study area in regard to a door alarm activation. Much to their surprise, they found a man sleeping in the area. They woke the man and found out that it was his anniversary. Not of marriage or anything remotely good for him. Instead, officers determined that it had been almost exactly one year since his last criminal trespass warning from The University of Texas. Officers celebrated this by issuing the man a fresh criminal trespass warning and taking him to jail for violating the first one. Occurred on 03/17/17 at 03:53 am. 1600 Block of Guadalupe Street Possession of Substance in Penalty Group 2A (Synthetic Cannabinoids): A UTPD officer observed an individual walking on the sidewalk who appeared to fall asleep while standing up. The officer recognized this is a common side effect associated with synthetic cannabinoids or K2 as it is commonly known. The offender is well known to UTPD officers. So well- known that yours truly has arrested him more than once – often for drug possession. Unsurprisingly, the man was in possession and under the influence of the aforementioned illegal drugs. He was transported to Travis County Central Booking. Occurred on 03/17/17 at 11:30 am. O'Henry Hall 601 W. Colorado Street Public Intoxication: A UTPD guard located a young woman passed out on the steps of the building. Officers responded to the area and woke the sleeper. They determined that she had consumed a copious amount of alcohol. She explained to officers that she (and this is a direct quote) knew “where to get the treasure.” She also believed it was 07:00 am when it was in fact, closer to 11:15 pm. The officer quickly located the vehicle and turned on his blinky-flashies. The vehicle then began to move at an incredibly slow pace for about a block before coming to a stop. The officer spoke with the driver and observed signs consistent with intoxication. The driver made rambling statements like “the passenger fell asleep behind the shirts.” The man admitted to officers that he was drunk but argued that his friends were “more drunk” than him. To his credit, he was mostly correct. As you might expect, the driver performed miserably on the standard tests. During the test, the driver began to laugh hysterically which is pretty uncommon in these situations. The driver was then taken into custody and searched. That search yielded the following: 137 Xanax Pills, Amphetamine Salts, Marijuana, Cocaine, LSD, Brass Knuckles and nearly $2000 dollars in small denominations.
