Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Tuesday 03/28/17 and Wednesday 03/29/17. San Antonio Garage 2420 San Antonio Street Criminal Trespass Warning: While UTPD officers were responding to the garage for a panic alarm, communications operators received a call regarding a suspicious person in the same area. Officers determined that the two calls were related and quickly found the suspect. They issued him a criminal trespass warning and ejected him from the campus. Occurred on 03/28/17 at 08:40 am. Sanchez Building 1912 Speedway Theft: A UT staff member reported that several packages were stolen from an office area. The packages were unattended at the time they were stolen. The loss is estimated at $139.47. Reported on 03/28/17 at 11:26 am. Jester Residence Hall 201 E. 21st Street Possession of Marijuana: UTPD officers were dispatched to the dorm in regards to a smell of marijuana report. Officers were easily able to find the source. Officers knocked on the door and when the UT student opened it, marijuana smoke billowed from the room. Officers recovered a small amount of marijuana. The case was administratively cleared. Occurred on 03/28/17 at 5:36 pm. Alley in the 2200 Block of Guadalupe Street Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer found two men passed out in the alley. The officer determined that only one of the two men was intoxicated. Concerned for the suspect's well-being, the officer summoned EMS. He was ultimately transported to a nearby hospital. Occurred on 03/28/17 at 06:15 pm. Jackson Geological Sciences Building 2305 Speedway Criminal Trespass Warning: A UTPD officer observed a man attempting to gain entry to the locked building. The officer quickly detained and identified the man and determined that he had no legitimate business on UT property. He was issued a criminal trespass warning and ejected from the campus. Occurred on 03/29/17 at 01:30 am. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 38 Alarm Reports, 3 Traffic Violations, 7 Foot Patrols, 7 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Medical Emergencies, 4 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Calls, and 29 Public Assists between Tuesday 03/28/17 and Wednesday 03/29/17.
