Report for 04/12/2017

Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Tuesday 04/11/17 and Wednesday 04/12/17. CVS Pharmacy 2222 Guadalupe Street Criminal Trespass/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UTPD officer observed a man panhandling in front of the store. I believe that a smile likely crept over the officer's face as he remembered that the man had been recently issued a criminal trespass warning for that location. The suspect was instantly taken into custody. A search incidental to arrest yielded a marijuana pipe. None of this was a surprise to officers since UTPD has interacted with this man almost twenty times and more than a few of those encounters have ended with criminal arrest or citation. Occurred on 04/11/17 at 10:44 am. University of Texas Administration Building 1616 Guadalupe Street Theft: A UT student reported that her bicycle was stolen from a rack outside of the building. The bicycle was locked to the rack at the time of the theft. Reported on 04/11/17 at 10:00 am. San Jacinto Residence Hall 309 E. 21st Street Criminal Trespass Warning: UTPD officers responded to the exterior of the building in regards to a report of a suspicious person. The person was said to be camped out in the area. Officers quickly located the man who told them that he had recently been released from prison for burglary. Officers identified the man, issued him a criminal trespass warning and ejected him from campus. Occurred on 04/12/17 at 03:30 am. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 18 Alarm Reports, 7 Traffic Violations, 1 Foot Patrol, 8 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Medical Emergency, 1 911 Hang-up, 1 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Call, and 28 Public Assists between Tuesday 04/11/17 and Wednesday 04/12/17.
