Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Wednesday 04/12/17 and Thursday 04/13/17. We apologize for the inconvenience. Arno Nowotny Building 709 E. Martin Luther King Boulevard Criminal Trespass Warning: UTPD officers were dispatched to the building after staff member reported that someone had chosen the front porch of their building for an unauthorized snooze. Officers responded to the area and determined that the sandman had no legitimate business on our campus. He was issued a criminal trespass warning and ejected from our campus. Occurred on 04/12/17 at 06:41 am. Belo Center for New Media 300 W. Dean Keeton St Theft: An A/V control panel was stolen from a classroom. The cost of replacing the panel is estimated to be $1500. Reported on 04/12/17 at 12:57 pm. Kinsolving Residence Hall 2605 Whitis Avenue Theft: An unknown male gained entry to the residence hall and entered a dorm room which was occupied by a single student. The suspect sat down on the floor of the room which alarmed the student. The suspect then left the area. The student would later determine that the suspect pilfered a bag containing several personal items. We have positively identified the suspect and our Criminal Investigations Division is currently seeking arrest warrants. Reported on 04/12/17 at 1:46 pm. Safety Note: Always keep your doors locked. If you live in the residence halls or an apartment building, don't give anyone you don't recognize access to the building. It may seem rude to let the door close on someone, but you risk the safety of the entire building when you let people tailgate behind you. We also ask that you dial 911 immediately any time you feel threatened or are witnessing criminal activity. Texas Swim Center 1900 Red River Drive Criminal Trespass Warning: UTPD officers were dispatched to the swim center in regards to a report of a suspicious person. The reporting person told officers that a person who was not affiliated with UT was using a private shower area. Officers quickly located and identified the suspect. He was issued a criminal trespass warning and ejected from the area. Occurred on 04/12/17 at 3:51 pm. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 42 Alarm Reports, 7 Traffic Violations, 1 Foot Patrol, 11 Suspicious Activity Reports, 3 Medical Emergencies, 2 911 Hang-ups and 24 Public Assists between Wednesday 04/12/17 and Thursday 04/13/17.
