Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University of Texas At Austin Police Department Patrol Officers between Tuesday 05/09/17 at Wednesday 05/10/17. San Antonio Garage 2420 San Antonio Street Criminal Trespass: A UTPD officer observed someone asleep in a box leaning against the garage. The officer recognized the man as someone that had been issued multiple trespass warnings for UT property and had been arrested less than 24 hours earlier for public intoxication. He was issued a new criminal trespass warning, taken into custody and transported to Travis County Central Booking. Occurred on 05/09/17 at 09:12 am. Perry-Castañeda Library 101 E. 21st Street Theft: A UT Student reported that their calculator was stolen from inside the library. The calculator was unattended at the time of theft. Reported on 05/09/17 at 10:50 am. University of Texas Administration Building 1616 Guadalupe Possession of Marijuana: UTPD Bike Patrol Officers observed a man smoking marijuana in plain view. They recognized the suspect from an earlier suspicious person call. The original call described someone with a large knife. Officers stopped the man, recovered marijuana and a large knife. He was taken into custody and transported to Travis County Central Booking. The possession of the knife did not rise to the level of a criminal offense. Occurred on 05/09/17 at 1:20 pm. Communications Building A 2504-A Whitis Avenue Theft: A UT student reported that their bicycle was stolen from a rack near the building. The cost of replacing the bike is estimated to be $200.00. Reported on 05/09/17 at 2:15 pm. 100 Block of W. 3rd Street Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer observed an male slumped over a bench in such a way that his head was leaning into a nearby bike lane. The officer woke the male and determined that he was intoxicated to the point of being a danger to himself. He was taken into custody and transported to Travis County Central Booking. Occurred on 05/10/17 at 12:06 am. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 25 Alarm Activations, 3 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Calls, 1 Abandoned 911 Call, 5 Foot Patrols, 8 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Medical Emergency, and 87 Public Assists between Tuesday 05/09/17 at Wednesday 05/10/17.
