Coffee with a Cop: Join us for coffee with a cop on 11/07/17 at Lucky Lab Coffee at 2421 San Antonio Street (directly Across from San Antonio Garage). Officers stopped the vehicle and upon approaching the vehicle were greeted with the smell of what they believed to be marijuana. The vehicle was occupied by two persons, one was a UT student and the other was unaffiliated. Officers would ultimately search the vehicle and recover marijuana, ecstasy, methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. Both occupants were taken into custody and transported to Travis County Central Booking. Occurred on 10/21/17 at 11:42 PM. Littlefield House 302 W. 24th Street Possession of Substance in Penalty Group 2 & Criminal Trespass: Officers observed an individual sitting on a fence near the building and believed the individual to have received a prior criminal trespass warning. That belief was quickly confirmed and the suspect was taken into custody. A search incidental to arrest yielded several prescription pills that the suspect did not have a prescription for. He was transported to Travis County Jail. Occurred on 10/20/17 at 8:30 pm. 400 Block of W. 21st Street Driving While Intoxicated & Possession of Substance in Penalty Group 1: A UTPD officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light and make an illegal left turn. The vehicle then began to travel at high speeds and swerve across lanes of traffic. The officer stopped the vehicle and immediately recognized that the driver (not-UT affiliated) exhibited symptoms of intoxication. When the officer asked the driver to consent to the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, the driver said that his lawyer advised him not to after his last DWI. Despite this refusal, officers determined that he was impaired due to intoxication and took him into custody. A search yielded a small amount of cocaine.
